‘Old’ Classic Rock guitarist looking to hook up with same in a (Relatively) local drummer and Bassist, interested in performing “Old School Excellence” consistently.
The idea is to start rehearsing ASAP, and run through the songs quickly (I find this easier with just a drummer and Bassist) until they're second nature, and then audition additional guitar, keys, and vocals.
I’m interested in doing all ‘by-the-book’ covers, but they ALL have to shine to perfection.
Some examples of 1970’s sets that I’d STILL pay an Excellent bar band to hear;
Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing, Lady Writer
Lynyrd Skynyrd - I Know a Little, That Smell, What’s Your Name
Jeff Beck - Freeway Jam
Led Zeppelin - Tea for One
Marshall Tucker Band - Can’t You See.
(That song KILLS live)
KISS - Rock and Roll All Night, Black Diamond
Tom Petty - Refugee, Running Down a Dream, Breakdown, I need to Know, Rebels
Collective Soul - Shine, December, The World I Know
Steely Dan - Reeling in theYears
AC/DC - Have a Drink on Me, Rock and Roll ain’t Noise Pollution
Bowie - Suffragette City, Rebel Rebel
Pink Floyd - Time, Comfortably Numb
These are just a list of ‘musicians songs’ that I’d like to do to ‘showcase the talent’, I understand that we will also need to play some dance tunes as well, so I’m thinking:
Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl, Moondance
Beatles - Twist and Shout, If I Fell
Tommy TuTone - Jenny Jenny
The Isley Brothers - Shout
I’ve left many off the list, but you get the idea
If you’re a Drummer or Bassist with your own practice space, or willing to go in on rehearsal space for a few hours, then please get back to me pronto.
The only ‘musts’ is must love THIS type music and MUST be reliable.
Be a Rocker, and Hit me back ASAP
