The Real Deal.
Up for sale is my '79 JMP Master Series 50 watt head.
I've owned this amp since 1985, but it's impractical for me to use in the type of venues I'm playing nowadays so I'm gonna let it go.
Cosmetically, it's got its share of bumps and bruises - typical for an amp of its age.
Tolex on the face plate, bottom of amp and bottom edge in the back show wear.
One fuse post has been replaced, and the gold caps have been knocked off all but one of the knobs.
The back is stenciled with the name of my old band, and there are the remains of the previous owner's band stencil, too.
But forget the cosmetics - this amp is all about that Marshall tone.
I just had it benched by Davidson Electronics in Plainview NY - they replaced a capacitor and reversed a mod that was installed back in the 80s and have given it a clean bill of health.
Essentially, you're getting a full stock JMP Master.
The tone of these old Marshalls is unmatched, and everything on this amp works as it should.
The Master Volume and Preamp controls let you dial in all the gain you'll need, and if you go through the low input it'll remind you that Marshalls could do clean tones, too.
If you want an authentic 70s tone, this amp will deliver it in spades.
Local pickup, Long Island and NYC area only - I will not ship.
Serious inquiries only, Cash and carry.
