Vintage "Chinoiserie" Lotus Flower Motif Carved Wood Chair - $450 (Huntington)

If you are looking for a real conversation piece to anchor a room, I have the chair for you.
For sale is a "Chinoiserie" chair of unknown age, wood type, or origin.
However, it was acquired from someone who claimed it was from a big estate on Long Island.
It is carved with an intricate lotus flower motif.
The chair appears to have been repaired at some point, but this was only revealed on very close inspection.
It is otherwise in great shape, with a beautiful finish.
All the joints are solid and as you can see in the photos, it looks great and is ready to add some flair to any room.
Similar chairs described as Japanese with a carved dragon motif retail online for anywhere from $800 (chairish.
com) to $2500 (1stdibs.
com).
This lotus flower motif appears to be considerably rarer and I have been unable to find anything more about it.
