It works and sounds just like any payphone would have when they were in service.

The front is protected with thick stainless steel.
It actually requires coins to work.
25 cents for local 7 digit numbers and 50 cents for most area code and number when calling out.
Like any payphone would have in the day, it will request coins when needed using voice prompts.
It comes with all 3 keys, a T key that will unlatch both the upper housing and the vault door! It also comes with a key for the vault lock and one for the top cover lock.
The line cord has a modular plug, all you have to do is plug it into your phone jack and it will work.
No external power supplies.
It rings on incoming calls with a real brass bell ringer.
You can answer incoming calls with this phone.
Programmed to charge 25 cents for 7 digit local calls and many 10 digit NYC vicinity calls and 50 cents for most other area code calls.
It collects the coins on completed calls and returns the coins on most calls that aren't completed.
It will actually prompt you with voice messages when money needs to be deposited.
Calls to 911 and 800 numbers are free.
Coins that are collected by the phone will be retrievable by you in the coin box provided.
The vol control button isn't functional, you can adjust the volume by pressing the # button.
